Ivonescimab treatment in ChinaSeek longer control of lung cancer.
Explore a new bispecific antibody option in Shanghai.

For first-line advanced non-small cell lung cancer with PD-L1 TPS≥1% and negative EGFR/ALK results, ivonescimab prolonged the time without disease progression in a study; this does not establish an overall survival benefit. This monotherapy pathway is available in China, and Shanghai specialists who led the research can discuss your test results, medication and ongoing treatment arrangements together.

Seeking disease control · HARMONi-2 (2025)
Ivonescimab · Median progression-free survival
11.1 months
Pembrolizumab monotherapy · The same endpoint
5.8 months

Limited to first-line locally advanced or metastatic non-small cell lung cancer with PD-L1 TPS≥1% and negative EGFR/ALK results. PFS is not overall survival, does not predict individual outcomes and has not shown superiority to every immunotherapy–chemotherapy regimen. View the evidence

11.1 versus 5.8 months is median PFS in the 2025 HARMONi-2 study, not overall survival or an individual prediction. ¥8,832 is an example drug cost per administration for a 60kg adult, based on a published 2026 price without insurance or assistance; not a full-course quote. View sources

Match the opportunity for longer disease control to the right new medicine

For eligible patients receiving first-line lung cancer treatment, ivonescimab offers bispecific antibody monotherapy targeting both PD-1 and VEGF. China has approved this use, and Shanghai research specialists have experience directly relevant to this regimen.

Seek to delay disease progression

In the 2025 HARMONi-2 study, median PFS was 11.1 months with ivonescimab versus 5.8 months with pembrolizumab monotherapy. The benefit applies to the study population; it does not mean longer overall survival or an extra 5.3 months of life for everyone.

Access a bispecific antibody matched to your subtype

China approved the first-line monotherapy use discussed here in April 2025. Suitability depends on PD-L1 TPS, driver alterations, stage and overall health. Approval does not automatically mean the treating hospital has stock.

Assessment by Shanghai specialists familiar with the regimen

Zhou Caicun was the principal investigator of HARMONi-2. When considering a team, review its research experience in lung cancer subtypes, this regimen and adverse effects, and discuss monotherapy, combination therapy and other first-line options.

Calculate weight-based drug costs and plan ongoing treatment

For a 60kg adult, the ivonescimab drug cost per administration is approximately ¥8,832. This estimate uses a hospital's published price on a fully self-funded basis for foreign patients without Chinese health insurance or free-drug assistance. Subsequent infusions and tests need a separate budget.

Hospital's published unit price
RMB ¥736 per 100mg; published by Dongguan Tungwah Hospital on 2026-06-26
Labelled dose and interval
For the first-line monotherapy regimen on this page: 20mg/kg every 3 weeks; the doctor determines the prescription
Example per administration for a 60kg adult
1,200mg, equivalent to 100mg × 12 vials
Example ivonescimab drug cost per administration
RMB ¥8,832 (¥736 × 12 vials), for ivonescimab alone
Other costs
Infusion, tests, management of side effects and other medical, coordination, travel and accommodation costs are additional

Calculated from a published unit price and example body weight; not a personal or international clinic quote or a full-course total. The treating hospital must confirm the actual dose, price and supply. Dosing every 3 weeks does not mean one trip to China completes treatment. Initial observation, subsequent infusion locations, fitness to return home and cumulative long-term costs need discussion in advance; no fixed hospital stay is promised.

Finding treatment that fits you
starts with the reports you already have.

Clarifying your disease type and previous treatment helps establish whether this option could form part of a plan for you.

  • Pathology, stage and treatment lineLocally advanced or metastatic non-small cell lung cancer at the first-line systemic treatment stage; this page addresses only the monotherapy population represented in HARMONi-2.
  • PD-L1TPS≥1%; TPS cannot be used interchangeably with other scoring systems.
  • Driver alterationsNegative for EGFR mutations and ALK; a doctor considers other genetic tests already performed and the complete results.
  • General health and previous treatmentAssess performance status, autoimmune disease, bleeding risk and other comorbidities. Previously treated patients need reassessment against the specific indication; the first-line results here cannot simply be applied to them.

Understanding the evidence for longer disease control

HARMONi-2, published in The Lancet in 2025, compared first-line ivonescimab and pembrolizumab monotherapy. The longer time without disease progression relates to the defined population and comparator below.

Median progression-free survival (PFS)
11.1 months with ivonescimab versus 5.8 months with pembrolizumab.
Study population and design
A randomised phase III study in China involving 398 patients with first-line locally advanced or metastatic non-small cell lung cancer, PD-L1 TPS≥1% and negative EGFR/ALK results.
What the endpoint means
PFS measures time from randomisation to disease progression or death; it is not overall survival (OS).

This cannot be interpreted as an extra 5.3 months of life for every patient, cannot predict how long an individual will live and has not demonstrated superiority to every immunotherapy–chemotherapy regimen. These results cannot be directly applied to other indications or later treatment lines.

Zhou Caicun of Shanghai East Hospital was the principal investigator of HARMONi-2, leading the direct comparison of first-line ivonescimab and pembrolizumab monotherapy. The team's research experience with this regimen may inform your choice of specialist assessment. Review pathology, PD-L1 TPS, EGFR/ALK results and treatment history together when discussing monotherapy, combination therapy and other first-line options. Public information does not confirm a partnership, drug supply or an appointment; the hospital must confirm the treating team, prescription, schedule and international patient charges.

Does a positive PD-L1 result mean I can use this regimen?

Not necessarily. This page concerns first-line advanced non-small cell lung cancer with TPS≥1% and negative EGFR/ALK results. Other driver alterations, performance status, comorbidities and treatment options affect the decision; previously treated patients need reassessment against the indication.

Does 11.1 months mean how long I can expect to live?

No. It is the median progression-free survival in the ivonescimab group in the 2025 HARMONi-2 study, compared with 5.8 months for pembrolizumab. It is not overall survival and does not mean an extra 5.3 months of life for an individual.

Is this a cheaper form of pembrolizumab?

Ivonescimab is a different medicine targeting PD-1 and VEGF, with a different mechanism; the drugs cannot be freely interchanged. This page lists only ivonescimab drug costs and does not show that it is cheaper in your circumstances. The study also did not establish superiority to every immunotherapy–chemotherapy regimen.

Is ¥8,832 the full cost of one treatment?

No. Using the published 2026-06-26 price of ¥736 per 100mg, a 60kg patient at 20mg/kg requires 12 vials. The figure covers only ivonescimab for one administration. Infusion, tests and management of side effects are additional. Confirm the actual international patient price, ongoing treatment every 3 weeks and return travel arrangements with the hospital.

Does a bispecific antibody have fewer side effects?

That cannot be assumed. Monitoring must address immune-related adverse effects and risks such as hypertension, proteinuria and bleeding. Targeting two pathways does not mean fewer side effects; the doctor should explain monitoring and management.
