Sacituzumab tirumotecan: previously treated triple-negative breast cancerAfter several treatment lines,
seek another chance of tumour shrinkage.

If triple-negative breast cancer continues to progress after several treatments and sacituzumab tirumotecan is difficult to obtain locally, China has a routine prescription pathway for eligible patients. It offers an opportunity to delay progression and shrink tumours in later-line treatment, provided prior-treatment requirements are met and hospital supply and ongoing infusions are arranged.

Key OptiTROP-Breast01 results
Median progression-free survival
6.7 months versus 2.5 months
Objective response rate
45.4% versus 12.0%

The comparator was physician's choice of chemotherapy; this does not establish superiority to other ADCs or support use in untreated triple-negative breast cancer. View the evidence

Efficacy comes from OptiTROP-Breast01 against physician's choice of chemotherapy and cannot rank different ADCs. Drug prices come from Tungwah's publication on 2026-06-26, not current international patient quotes or full treatment costs. View sources

Access a suitable new ADC after several treatment lines

If sacituzumab tirumotecan is not readily available locally, patients meeting the Chinese indication can discuss routine prescribing as part of their next treatment plan.

Access need not depend solely on clinical trial eligibility

China has an approved pathway for this drug. Eligible patients can discuss routine treatment, while actual patient acceptance, stock and prescriptions still require hospital confirmation.

Use your treatment history to help choose the next step

Review prior immunotherapy, chemotherapy and ADC exposure to assess whether later-line study findings apply to you. Resistance to one ADC does not mean a different ADC will necessarily work.

Example for 60kg: RMB 9,100 in drug costs per administration; budget for continued treatment

Estimated for fully self-funded foreign patients without Chinese health insurance or free-drug assistance. The example below calculates only drug costs using whole 200mg vials. Include infusions, blood tests and supportive medicines when planning a budget for treatment every two weeks.

200mg × 1 vial
RMB 4,550
Example: 60kg at 5mg/kg
300mg required; using only whole 200mg vials, 2 vials cost RMB 9,100 per administration
Infusions, blood tests and supportive medicines
Itemised confirmation from the hospital is needed

Published by Tungwah on 2026-06-26; not an international patient quote. Usual dosing is every 2 weeks. The example includes unused medicine from whole vials; confirm actual costs using available strengths and the prescription.

Finding treatment that fits you
starts with the reports you already have.

Clarifying your disease type and previous treatment helps establish whether this option could form part of a plan for you.

  • Pathology requirementsAdults with unresectable locally advanced or metastatic triple-negative breast cancer; review ER, PR and HER2.
  • Treatment requirementsConfirm at least two systemic treatments, including treatment in the advanced setting; recurrence alone is insufficient.
  • Health requirementsBlood counts, liver and kidney function and oral health must permit treatment; previous ADC resistance requires additional assessment.

After several treatment lines, seek to delay progression and shrink tumours

OptiTROP-Breast01, published in Nature Medicine in 2025, compared this drug with physician's choice of chemotherapy and observed progression-free survival and tumour response benefits. This does not establish superiority to other ADCs.

Hazard ratio for progression or death
0.32 (95% confidence interval 0.24–0.44)
Main safety concerns
Bone marrow suppression, oral mucositis and nausea
Randomised enrolment
263 patients

Benefit varies between individuals. Treatment continues until progression or unacceptable toxicity, and reassessment may lead to delays or dose reductions.

Costs, potential benefit and further treatment deserve specific answers before departure.

Can I use it simply because disease progressed after several treatments?

You must also meet requirements including adult unresectable locally advanced or metastatic triple-negative breast cancer and at least two prior systemic treatments, at least one for advanced or metastatic disease. Physical tolerance and previous ADC resistance must be assessed.

Is it the same medicine as sacituzumab govitecan?

No. Their payloads and studies differ. Doses and efficacy cannot be interchanged, and this study cannot rank the two medicines.

Which symptoms require prompt contact with the hospital?

Contact the hospital promptly for fever, significant bleeding, mouth pain affecting eating or persistent vomiting, to assess infection, bone marrow suppression and supportive treatment needs.

Can I return home after one infusion and continue treatment there?

Treatment every two weeks, blood tests and ongoing drug supply must first be arranged. Treatment usually continues until progression or unacceptable toxicity; reassessment may cause delays or dose reductions. A single infusion is not a substitute for a continuous treatment plan.
