Bring the names, doses, timing and duration of medicines already tried, together with the changes they actually produced. Some people with PSP obtain limited improvement in stiffness or slowness from medicines used for Parkinson's disease; a response does not automatically settle the diagnosis. Conversely, an apparently poor response deserves review in the context of the prescribed trial and the symptom being measured. Do not stop or alter medication to demonstrate symptoms for an overseas consultation. Ask the treating clinician how to prepare safely and whether short, consented videos of ordinary movement would help document variation.

Care need not wait until every diagnostic question is resolved. Physiotherapy and occupational therapy can address mobility, falls and daily activities, while speech and swallowing assessment can guide communication and nutrition support. MSA-related bladder or blood-pressure symptoms may require their own treatment plan. For PSP and MSA, current care focuses on symptoms and function; it does not promise to stop progression. A revised diagnosis can therefore change practical priorities even when it does not unlock a curative medicine. Decisions about feeding support and future care should include the person's preferences and family capacity.
