Records for the assessment
Bring audiograms and available speech-perception testing. Also include hearing-aid history and reports of benefit or difficulty.
Questions for the clinical team
Ask how candidacy is assessed and what outcomes remain uncertain. Discuss the external equipment, programming visits and ongoing listening or language rehabilitation before choosing a device.
Confirming care and arrangements
Implant surgery, the device, activation, programming and rehabilitation are separate parts of care. Confirm each component’s cost and where long-term support will be available; a single trip cannot be assumed to complete the process.
